I’m doing my best to be on guard and not be carried away by poor doctrine and interpretation. When I see that ignorant people have misused the Bible to promote hatred toward another group of people, it makes me as mad as it made Paul. I’m encouraged by your post, and I’m a little scared for those people who practice this “Bible-inspired” hatred. According to Paul, their distortion of scripture will be the end of them. I really hope that’s not the case for my brothers and sisters who have twisted the Bible to fit their bigotry.

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.
